Marketing happens everywhere – it’s on your TV, on your phone and in the magazines and newspapers you read.
A lot of it takes place on social media, where all your prospective clients are hanging out.
Here’s a quick list of the major social media platforms and how you can use each of them to boost your marketing efforts to reach all the right clients.
While not all social media platforms will be a great fit for your business, most are pretty well-suited to real estate marketing. Some of the most notable platforms Realtors® use include:
Facebook has more than a billion active users all over the world, which means you can’t overlook it.

You can certainly use it more often to share old blog posts, ask questions (like “Do you prefer this stone fireplace or this rustic wood fireplace?”) or create polls that get people to click.
There are two facets to Google – Google+ and Google My Business. Google+ allows you to write posts, much like Facebook does, while Google My Business showcases your posts on your GMB listing. (Learn more about posting on Google My Business here.)

Instagram doesn’t support links back to your website, but it’s the place to go for gorgeous photos. With as many users as Facebook, it’s definitely where you want to put copies of flyers advertising open houses and gorgeous homes you want to showcase.
When to use it, bare minimum:
LinkedIn is a professional social media network, so it’s a great place to link to helpful articles you’ve found (or preferably, that you’ve written). It supports video, too, which means it’s a great repository for the video content you produce.
When to use it, bare minimum:
Pinterest has about 175 million active users a month, with 75 million of them in the U.S. As many as 81 percent of Pinterest users are women, and millennials use it as much as they use Instagram. It doesn’t support video, but it’s the perfect place to share high-res photos and links back to your website.
When to use it, bare minimum:
Twitter has more than 300 million active monthly users, so it’s a perfect place to promote blog posts, ebooks that only you offer, and new listings. You can share links and videos in addition to pictures, and tweets can be longer than they used to – now you can type 280 characters.
